1. Overview

We run Dewel Music so listeners can discover music and artists can distribute it. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we use it, and how to contact us with questions or requests. By using Dewel Music you agree to this policy.

2. Data We Collect

Account & Identity

Phone number, email, display name, password hash, OTP verification data.

Profile & Uploads

Stage name, bio, country (if provided), profile/cover images, audio files, album/track metadata.

Purchases

Purchase tokens/receipts from Apple/Google, store transaction IDs, price/amount, payout eligibility, refund/chargeback status.

Usage & Device

App actions (plays, likes, downloads, shares), device type/OS/version, request IDs, crash logs; no precise location collected.

Storage/Downloads

Locally stored downloads on your device (managed by you).

Support/Communications

Messages you send to support and feedback you provide.

3. How We Use Data

  • Provide and secure the service (auth, session management, fraud prevention, rate limiting).
  • Process in-app purchases and verify receipts with Apple or Google.
  • Deliver music files, previews, and artwork via signed URLs.
  • Operate artist features (uploads, stats, payouts via Stripe).
  • Improve reliability (logging, debugging, crash analysis).
  • Enforce our Terms, address abuse, and comply with law.
  • Communicate with you about your account, security events, or product updates.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We share only as needed to operate the service:

Platform billing: Apple App Store / Google Play (IAP receipts and transaction IDs).
Payments/payouts: Stripe (artist payouts only).
Messaging: Twilio (OTP/SMS), Mailgun (transactional emails such as verification codes and password resets).
Storage/hosting/CDN: AWS S3/MinIO for media and images (served via signed URLs).
Analytics/ops: Internal logging and monitoring; no third-party ads SDKs.
Legal/compliance: To comply with law, protect rights, or respond to lawful requests.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

  • Web: JWT tokens stored in cookies for authentication; no advertising cookies.
  • Mobile: Tokens stored in secure device storage; downloads stored locally on your device.

6. Data Retention

  • Account, purchases, and payout records: Kept as long as you maintain an account and as required for tax, accounting, and anti-fraud obligations.
  • Logs: Retained for security and debugging for limited periods.
  • Downloads: Stored locally until you delete them from the device.

7. Your Choices & Rights

  • Access/Update: Update profile details in-app or via support.
  • Deletion: Request account deletion via in-app request or email (see Section 10). Some records (e.g., purchase and payout data) may be retained as required by law.
  • Marketing: We currently do not send marketing messages; transactional messages may still be sent.
  • Permissions: You can disable optional permissions in your device settings.

8. Security

We use HTTPS, token-based auth, rate limiting, signed URLs for media, and server-side receipt verification. No system is perfect—please report issues to security@dewelmusic.com.

9. Children

Dewel Music is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the service if you are under 13 or if applicable law in your region requires a higher age.

10. International & Transfers

Data may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. By using the service you consent to these transfers.

11. Changes

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, when appropriate, notify you in-app or on dewelmusic.com.
